Perle Fine, Liar, 1948

Fine was an American Abstract Expressionist artist active in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.

In the 1940s, Fine joined the American Association of Abstract Artists – a society that included noted abstract artists such as Josef Albers and Ad Reinhardt. Her work utilizes not only oils but paper scraps, newspapers, gold foil, and color fields across white backgrounds or canvas.
